A BSL Advisory Board is being set up to help the government on delivering the British Sign Language Act 2022.

The Government have announced recruitment for the new BSL Advisory Board. They will advise the Government on:

  • Progressing the BSL Act
  • Increasing BSL interpreters
  • BSL in public communications

Details

The Disability Unit is recruiting for board members and an independent co-chairperson to join a British Sign Language (BSL) Advisory Board.

Members will use their expertise and experience to help ensure the voices of Deaf people are recognised and valued in a way that informs policy and strategy across government.

The first term of the board will be from 2022 to 2025.

The closing date for applications is 5pm on Friday 2 September 2022.
