Being deaf does not cause depression and anxiety.
Facing barriers every day does.

Deaf young people are twice as likely to experience mental health issues. Meet the real young people behind the statistic.

Charis had anxiety and wished she had support from a deaf professional.

White young woman with long curly blond hair

Lucy struggled with her mental health at university.

Can you help?

SignHealth is increasing our support to reach deaf children and young people. But we cannot do it alone.

We are reaching out to you to ask for your help. It costs just £10 to provide a place at a mental health workshop for one deaf young person.

Could you donate today to help more young people like Charis, Lucy, Harriet and Beth.

White young woman with dark hair

Harriet’s hearing therapist assumed that being deaf was the problem.

White young woman with short blond hair

Beth felt isolated and it really affected her mental health.

Deaf young people need better and more frequent mental health support. They need accessible support delivered by deaf professionals who understand their barriers. They need education to identify early signs of poor mental health. They need to know where they can go for help.

By donating today, you can show deaf young people that we will not settle for a world with barriers to health and wellbeing for deaf people. Together, we have the power to make a change.
