Walk4Wellbeing 2022

SignHealth would like to invite you to take part in the Walk4Wellbeing 2022! This year will be a bit different as our event will take place throughout the month of July.

This year we challenge you to walk every day in July!

Set yourself a walking goal that will support your wellbeing while also raising money in support of our services for Deaf people. If walking every day isn’t for you then don’t worry, you can join anytime in July and walk as little or as much as you wish. This is your challenge, we encourage you to do it your own way.

Sign up as an individual or as part of a team with your family and friends.

When?: 1st – 31st July 2022

Where?: Anywhere you chose to, whether it be the countryside, your local park or by the sea.

If you need any help signing up, please contact Jon Brown: jonbrown@signhealth.org.uk

Examples of walking challenges:

Making small changes and getting into new walking habits can also make a big difference to your physical and mental health:

  • Try getting off a few stops early on your bus or tube, and walk a bit further than usual.
  • Walking is a good excuse to get out of the house and watch less TV, you could try listening to a podcast on your walk instead
  • Rather than meeting a friend in a cafe or pub, go for a walk with them instead. People often find it is easier to talk more openly whilst walking.

Tips to make the most of your Walk4Wellbeing

Frequently Asked Questions about Walk4Wellbeing

Who can be involved?

The event is for everyone!

What is a 30 day challenge?

It’s simple, just walk every day in July for 30 days.  You choose how far you walk, where and when. You will be supporting SignHealth with your fundraising as well as supporting your wellbeing at the same time! (You can start on the 1st – 30th July or 2nd – 31st July, to walk for 30 days, it’s your choice!)

What if I can’t complete the 30-day challenge?

That’s ok, don’t worry, you could try a different type of challenge instead. For example, why not try a long-distance walk, as long as it’s during the month of July. Walk4Wellbeing is flexible and your wellbeing is the most important part. If it’s too much, take it a day at a time to work your way towards your goal. Do your best, we believe in you!

How do I set up a fundraising page under SignHealth’s campaign page?

We’ve tried to keep it nice and simple for you.

(Please sign up before the 18th June to receive your t-shirt. Please note: we will be unable to provide t-shirts for sign-ups after 18th June).

You will still receive a free t-shirt if you register and set up a JustGiving page. If you don’t want the t-shirt you can give it away to someone else instead.

Why should I fundraise and what’s it for?

Fundraise for SignHealth to help us to provide mental health support in schools and allow us to develop resources so that young Deaf people can better manage their mental health. Fundraising also helps towards SignHealth’s mission to improve the health and wellbeing of Deaf people.
