Mental Health Group Workshops

Information about new therapy workshops in BSL from SignHealth.

Refer Yourself

SignHealth will be running workshops covering different topics. This is not group therapy. We will teach you different techniques and tools in how to manage situations, including stress, sleep difficulties and trauma.

Workshops will be held for 4, 6 or 8 weeks, depending on the topic. SignHealth therapists will be running the workshops. Most will be online via zoom, with some face to face options, and each workshop session will be about one hour long.

The aim is to help you to manage your situation, giving you tools to support your mental health.

Fibromyalgia Workshop

Fibromyalgia workshop information in BSL

This workshop is suitable for those who have fibromyalgia or are suspected to have fibromyalgia.

The workshop will last 5-6 weeks and focus on how your symptoms affect your daily routine, your sleep and activities. We will give you some tools to change your life, how to manage pain, how to improve sleep, and how to improve activities in different ways.

We do not diagnose fibromyalgia, but we will educate you on what is fibromyalgia and how to manage yourself to improve your quality of life.

Trauma Workshop

Trauma workshop information in BSL

This is suitable for those who have been through a difficult time, expecially if you cannot forget and it bothers you now and emotionally affects you. It can be linked to post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

This workshop will focus on what is trauma, what is PTSD, how to cope with difficult memories, and how to cope with flashbacks. We do not expect you to tell us what happened to you in the past. This is more for you to learn skills in how to cope. There are only four sessions.

Anxiety and Stress Workshop

Anxiety and stress workshop information in BSL

This workshop is up to six weeks, focusing on tools and how to spot symptoms of your anxiety and how to spot them earlier before it gets worse. We will give you tools for how to manage your anxiety and information on how to manage anxiety more effectively.

If you are interested and want to be a part of the workshop, please refer to our service. We will then assess if you are suitable.

Couples therapy for depression

Couples therapy information in BSL

This is not a group workshop. Couples therapy for depression is a new SignHealth service within Psychological Therapies. This is suitable for any couples who have depression, or maybe one person has depression that is affecting the relationship.

This therapy is for you if you have been in a relationship for more than six months, live together, and one or both people have possible low mood and want to work together to make changes.

If you are interested in couples therapy, please refer yourself to our service and we will do an assessment to check on suitability. This will be done individually first, then we can offer couples therapy if you are suitable.

If you are interested in any of these workshops, please refer yourself to our service and we will assess your suitability.

We will place you on the waiting list until we have dates booked in. It will be either remote via zoom, or face to face. We will then contact you to let you know when and where this will be happening.
