Good morning! I have just come out of a meeting with Sir Stephen Timms, the Minister for Social Security and Disability.
We talked about who we are as SignHealth, a deaf-led organisation providing BSL services. We also talked about how we can improve access to healthcare, using the Accessible Information Standard. We were proud to showcase our Deaf Health Roadshow to empower the deaf community in our workshops.
We talked about the importance of having qualified interpreters. We also talked about how we can work with them to improve access to healthcare.
We look forward to building a great working relationship with Sir Stephen Timms and his department. We are grateful for his time to listen to us.
