Deaf Health Roadshow
As part of our engagement with the wider deaf community, we are organising a roadshow of health information and campaigning workshops. Our engagement officer will visit deaf community groups, coffee mornings, social clubs, health services and more.

Workshops
Part 1 – AIS
Deaf people are dying due to poor healthcare.
Understanding the Accessible Information Standard gives us the confidence to advocate for our communication needs.
We also want to find out more about your experiences accessing NHS services.
Part 2 – Where is our access?
This session will cover what to do if your communication needs are not met. This will include how to give good and bad feedback to health services.
We will also have a chance to practice and learn how to influence the NHS.
Intro to Deaf Health Forums
SignHealth would like to introduce and support Deaf Health Forums to be set up across the UK.
These groups can influence the NHS, inform local services of the issues and create lasting change for access to services for deaf people.
