Celebrating success: how we transformed accessibility with PageTiger
We are proud that we were awarded a Badge of Excellence for driving accessible and inclusive interactive materials with PageTiger. This is a celebration of the impact of accessible communications made possible through the platform.
Putting our people at the heart of communication
Around 68 % of our staff are deaf, which means traditional internal comms of long emails, PDF newsletters, or written-only updates were not suitable.
We needed a way to share internal communications in British Sign Language (BSL) that were also visually engaging, and interactive. It’s important to us to create a space where everyone, deaf and hearing, can access the same information equally.
That’s where PageTiger came in.
How PageTiger helped us communicate without barriers
We moved our internal newsletter onto PageTiger and created dynamic editions:
- BSL videos alongside text, so every staff member could access updates in their preferred language.
- Accessible design features with clear layouts, larger text, and clear navigation.
- Interactive polls and clickable content that encouraged feedback and participation.
- Analytics dashboards giving real-time insight into what content resonated with staff.
- Secure, centralised access to ensure our staff could always find the latest edition with confidence.
The results:
- 237 % increase in engagement within six months
- 135 % return rate – staff coming back again to read and interact
- 100 % accessibility for deaf employees
But perhaps the most meaningful outcome was cultural. The newsletter became something staff looked forward to. A vibrant, visual space that celebrated achievements, invited contributions, and connected the whole organisation.
Now every team at SignHealth is looking at ways to use PageTiger, including for policies, promotional materials, team profiles, supporter newsletters, announcements and more.
A shared success we are proud of
Being awarded the Badge of Excellence alongside large companies such as Tui or the Henry Ford Foundation is a moment of pride for all of us at SignHealth. It recognises our unique strengths and ongoing work to make communication engaging, accessible, and inclusive for everyone.
