Robin Ash:
You may remember that last year, I travelled across the country delivering our Deaf Health Roadshow. You shared your experience so much with us at the workshops, thank you and we hope you have enjoyed and learnt from our workshops.
We are excited to tell you that we have been successful in getting some funding from the Department of Science, Innovation and Technology, the UK Government.
This short-term funding is to support deaf people who struggle to access online health services such as the NHS app, NHS 111 VRS or other various health related information. You can access this type of information through your mobile phone, tablet, or laptop.
Over the next few months, we will be making visits across the nine regions of England to deliver the Deaf Health Roadshow, but our focus will be on digital access to health services. You may think that you might not understand or need support with technology or how to use apps like this. If so, then these workshops will be good for you, and they are open to any deaf people of any age or any level.
Nine regions include: Sunderland, Liverpool, Rotherham, Nottingham, Stafford, Cambridge, Bristol, Reading and Whitechapel, London.
If you would like to have more information about our visits, please contact these regional organisations, based on the list.
I hope to see you there!
