Introducing SignHealth on BBC Lifeline!
SignHealth has been chosen as the BBC Lifeline charity this month! We are so proud to be working with the BBC to showcase who we are and what we do. The short TV programme will air on BBC One on Sunday, 25 January.
Thank you to our brave contributors Lucindha, Jacob and a domestic abuse survivor who will remain anonymous. All three are sharing their stories in the hope that we can reach more deaf people in their moment of need.
This is a big opportunity to introduce our work to a wider audience and highlight ongoing barriers to mental health support for our community. We hope to encourage hearing allies to recognise our experiences and support more inclusive services so that every deaf person has access.
It is so important to us that this BBC Lifeline appeal reflects SignHealth as a by-and-for, deaf led organisation. As the largest employer of BSL users in the country, we worked with the production team to ensure the programme would be in BSL and reflect the access we hope to see.
